The Host

The host of Diversions is Marc Catlin, who currently serves as the state representative for the 58th district in Colorado. Marc Catlin is serving the second year in his first term as the representative. The counties that make up the 58th district are: Montrose, Dolores, Montezuma, and San Miguel. In the state legislature, Representative Catlin sits on the Agriculture, Livestock, and Natural Resources Committee as well as the Public Health Care and Human Services Committee.

Marc Catlin was born on a row crop farm in Montrose, and that farm is still active today. This is where his passion for water and water rights got started. He spent a majority of his career at the Uncompahgre Valley Water User’s Association, from 1996 to 2011 served as the manager of the association. Most recently, Marc Catlin was employed by Montrose County, where he was the Water Right Development Coordinator. His work for Montrose County was mostly spent identifying and protecting water rights. Currently Marc Catlin serves on the board of directors for the Colorado River District. Where he utilizes his knowledge and experiences with dealing with water rights.
